This is a fast paced role, and the successful candidates will be able to work without supervision in a variety of roles and be upbeat, enthusiastic and personable in all situations. These duties will include creating shift schedules, assigning seating sections, problem solving, tracking food and beverage preferences and aiding the Restaurant Leader and Manager in the successful operation of the restaurant and lounge. Specific roles will range from front host person, busser, server and bartender. This role will be responsible for accurate cash handling. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of serving experience in a fast-paced lounge or restaurant and current Food Safe and Serving It Right Certification. Knowledge of beers, wines and spirits is required. Experience with POS systems and Microsoft Office is needed. Must have the ability to work in a variety of roles and have a flexible schedule, multi-task and ensure guest expectations are exceeded in an efficient manner. POSITION DETAILS - PORTERS/BAR BACKS: Collect and Transport Stock: Bar porters are responsible for collecting beverage stock and other items needed for bar sales from the designated back of house areas during the festival and transporting them to each specific bar. This role is often asked to help pick up product from liquor stores and breweries in advance of the festival weekend as part of the inventory management team. Ability to change a keg is a strong advantage. Maintain Bar Inventory: Bar porters constantly check the bar’s alcohol inventory and note when a certain stock is getting low. They report inventory levels to an appropriate bar manager who is responsible for placing new orders. Restock Other Bar Supplies: Bar porters check the bar’s miscellaneous supplies such as mix, garnish, napkins, cups, and more. Once things run low on the floor, bar porters are responsible for restocking them to make sure bar clientele remains happy.
